Guinness Grand Union Canal Medical Meander (GGUCMM) 1977
Guinness Grand Union Canal Medical Meander (GGUCMM) The meander, undertaken by medical and dental students to raise money for charity, replaced the London Medical and Dental Students Guinness Walk (see below) following a fatality in 1976. The black polyester tie with large centipede logo was awarded to Dr David Radford for completing the 1977 meander. The black polyester tie with smaller, centrally placed centipede insignia (20358.2 – condition, good) was awarded to Dr David Radford for completing the 1978 meander. The blue polyester tie with the centipede insignia was awarded to Dr David Radford for completing the 1979 meander – the twentieth walk. The green GGUCMM tie (20358.6 – condition, good) awarded to Dr David Radford for completion of the 1980 meander. The navy GGUCMM tie (20358.8 – condition, good) awarded to Dr David Radford for completion of the 1981 meander. The maroon GGUCMM tie awarded to Dr David Radford for completion of the 1982 meander, and the last tie in the series was presented to Dr David Radford for completing the 1983 meander – the twenty-third walk.
