Ties wanted

In compiling this Archive, reference was found to a number of ties which are not yet included. Also, feedback from makers of bespoke ties has revealed that there are dental ties which have been produced but not yet donated to the Archive. Furthermore, it is suspected that there are many more ‘yet to be discovered ties’ which would make excellent additions to the collection. Whatever help and assistance can be given to tracking down and having one or more ‘wanted ties’ donated will be greatly appreciated. Successful tie ‘hunters’ will, by way of reward, have their names added to the list of donors to the Archive.

Fellowship of Possible Professors (FOPPS)

This organisation had a constitution, meetings and a tie. Members had to have made at least one rejected application for a chair (professorial) position, often to be subsequently ‘black-balled’. Membership, including a number of Honorary Members, some from across the world. The tie logo (pictured) is a chair, two crossed swords dripping blood, indicating back stabbing, and the motto "Nemo sed nos", loosely translated as "nobody but us".
